In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking a Mid-Level SAP HR Consultant with expertise across the Hire-to-Retire and Travel & Expense (T&E) process areas to support and enhance our SAP Human Resources landscape. The ideal candidate will combine strong SAP HCM configuration skills with a deep understanding of end-to-end HR processes - from onboarding to offboarding - as well as integration with Travel and Expense systems such as SAP Concur. Candidate must be willing to relocate to Buffalo, NY.

Key Responsibilities
Hire-to-Retire Process Support
- Configure and support SAP HR modules related to core Hire-to-Retire functions, including Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Time Management (TM), and Payroll (PY).
- Collaborate with HR, Talent, and Finance teams to enhance end-to-end employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, job changes, leave management, performance, separations).
- Ensure accurate data integration and process flow between SAP HR and related systems (e.g., Recruiting, Learning, Benefits, and Payroll).
- Participate in HR transformation and automation initiatives, ensuring alignment with global HR strategies and compliance requirements.
Travel & Expense (T&E) Process Support
- Support and configure Travel & Expense management solutions, including integration between SAP HCM, SAP Concur, and Finance systems.
- Collaborate with Finance and HR stakeholders to ensure accurate travel policy enforcement, expense processing, and reimbursement workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system or integration issues related to travel authorizations, expense submissions, and approval flows.
- Identify and implement process improvements for employee experience and compliance within T&E operations.
General Responsibilities
- Conduct requirements gathering, functional design, configuration, and testing for enhancements and projects.
- Develop and maintain functional documentation, configuration guides, and test scripts.
- Partner with ABAP and integration teams for custom reports, data flows, and system interfaces.
- Support upgrades, regression testing, and deployment of new features.
- Provide user training and knowledge transfer to HR and Finance teams.
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- 3-5 years of SAP HR (HCM) functional experience, with demonstrated hands-on configuration in Hire-to-Retire processes.
- Strong understanding of HR and Finance integration points, particularly related to Travel & Expense (SAP Concur preferred).
- Experience translating business requirements into SAP system solutions.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Candidate must be willing to relocate to Buffalo, NY.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Experience with SAP Concur, SuccessFactors Employee Central, or SAP S/4HANA HR environments.
- Understanding of global HR data management, payroll integration, and compliance requirements.
- SAP Certification in HCM or related module.
- Prior experience in a consulting or large enterprise environment.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
