Problem statement
Automated reasoning and forecasting on time series data

Project Description

Industrial processes and assets generate a lot of time-series data. A non code-savvy line-of-business (LoB) user would typically like to quickly generate insights from these data without much coding overhead. However, there are few tools available out there that can address the needs of the LoB user. The aim of this project would be to explore research ideas that would further enhance the LoB user experience for tasks such as 1) automatic and unsupervised feature subset selection and region of interest identification, and 2) automatic large-scale time series forecasting. The intern will work with data from multiple physical processes such as industrial equipment and commodity markets.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

Coding in R / Python. Familiarity with standard ML libraries. Experience working with multi-variate time-series data and methods
