Product Manager - IBM Transaction Processing Systems

Job Description
IBM Transaction Processing software has a long and proven heritage as the infrastructure which powers the world's biggest organisations. As these enterprises face a new era of challenges in serving an expanding customer base through new digital channels, the software on which they rely is adapting and changing to meet these new needs.

You will be at the forefront of that change as we help our clients to take advantage of APIs and cloud and container technologies in conjunction with their existing IT investments. We are seeking a forward-thinking product manager with software delivery experience and looking for an opportunity to work with the largest enterprises in the financial, retail and healthcare sectors.

As Product Manager you will be responsible for day to day aspects of running a significant and growing enterprise software business which sits on the boundary between traditional Z (mainframe) applications and new cloud and digital IT landscapes.

Taking direction from the portfolio leader and senior product manager you will work closely with a global and cross functional team to develop and deliver the ambitious growth plans for one of our most strategic offerings.

Working with clients through various forums you will develop requirements and, using the IBM Design Thinking approach, deliver value to market rapidly using agile methods. A shining example of continuous delivery, the team have grown the offering rapidly with a significant and engaged base of sponsor customers. We are now placed to make the move into mainstream adoption and as the offering manager you will play a key evangelist role in working with sales & marketing teams both in planning and execution. In doing so you will need to:

• Plan and execute sales and market enablement activities

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Min 2-3 years in an IT product management, technical marketing/sales or customer success manager role.
Experience as part of an agile software development team
Experienced in communicating with a range of audiences including developers and executive roles

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

In addition to required experience
Proven experience in API concepts, Integration technologies and/or experience of System Z software as a product manager or technical specialist
at least 2 years experience of partner or ISV management and enablement
