Performance Test Engineer

Job Description
The Test Engineer is responsible for the overall quality and timeliness of test delivery within a test phase for a programme / release / sprint which is measured through Delivery and Service metrics and CSL's

This role is responsible for the implementation of performance engineering techniques within the Squad level Strategy focussing on the implementation and management of Performance Engineering methods.

Delivering against the estimates is an equally important responsibility which includes planning activities based on preparation and execution rates per person per day, coaching and support more junior members of the team and triaging defects to ensure only valid defects are assigned to resolver groups for investigation and resolution. From a performance engineering perspective and approach

Role Responsibilities : -

  • Responsible for adopting performance engineering methods / patterns and methods -
  • Responsible for planning of preparation and execution activities at a phase level (Performance Engineering techniques - including research, performance modelling, technical proving and implementing coding standards)
  • Responsible for test preparation and supporting more junior team members in performance engineering / performance testing
  • Responsible for Innovation and implementation of lessons learned, continuous process improvements like CTD, ARD, Automation, Agile, DevOps - leading on performance engineering
  • Responsible for coaching and supporting more junior team members in Performance Engineering / Testing techniques

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proven experience working as a Junior Test Engineer and / or Test Lead
  • Experience in analytical skills / designing optimised test coverage

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Educated to a degree level (Technique / Software Development)
  • Experience in technical testing and performance engineering techniques
  • Experience with Performance Modelling tooling e.g. hyperformix
  • Experience in performance test tools - Loadrunner, RPT, JMeter, VSTS
