Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking qualified candidates for a staff position in our advanced microelectronic packaging team at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center at Yorktown Heights, NY.

The mission of the advanced packaging team is to enable the fabrication of early prototype hardware module builds by applying 200mm wafer scale and die level packaging & assembly techniques. The staff member will develop and own novel packaging processes and modules to support various projects related to quantum, AI and other areas.
Example key techniques, tools and processes involved are chip and wafer bonding, FBEOL (Far backend) related processes including lithography, IMS, metal deposition and etch, characterization techniques and others. Furthermore, person will also use new novel materials in combination with established techniques to develop novel process flows and modules.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in materials science or related disciplines.
Hands on experience in nanofabrication and semiconductor processing techniques is also required.
