Network Support Engineer

Job Description
This role is part of internal IT department,
- Install, configure and troubleshoot firewalls ASA,Cisco ACS, Cisco routers and switches
- Perform routine monitoring and maintenance tasks to internal network environment
- Update process documentation
- Communicate with internal customers, peers, and managers regarding network systems
- Ensure adherence to policies, processes and procedures
- Participate on periodical review and audits of the network environment
- Maintenance of network documentation and create reports
- Assume other duties / projects as they arise and be responsive to the needs of the department
- Actively contribute to all ongoing and new internal projects
- Engage with business representatives to conduct business impact analysis;
- Troubleshoot various workstation connectivity issues (on windows linux macos)
- Perform various IT tasks (cabling, hardware troubleshooting etc)

Minimum Requirements:
- A solid understanding of network technologies (routing & switching, BGP)
- Excellent hands-on working knowledge, configuration, managing and deploying of ASA Firewalls, Switches and Cisco routers
- At a minimum must possess current CCNA qualification (CCNP R&S or Security is an advantage)
- Communication skills - both written and verbal
- Experience with Linux, log serves, monitoring tools

Detailed requirements and activities
- Maintain and enhance the network infrastructure including the data circuits, Internet breakouts, firewall, and border gateway router implementation
- Firewall experience including IPsec VPN configuration/troubleshooting and associated ACLs
- Complying with ISO27001 policies and internal Standards and procedures
- Liaise with infrastructure suppliers to coordinate new client site implementations and maintenance of existing client infrastructure
- Deployment and maintenance of network monitoring, analysis and reporting tools
- Proven deployment and troubleshooting experience
- Radius, 802.1X implementations

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

- Routing protocols (OSPF / EIGRP / Static);
- High availability protocols (VRRP / HSRP);
- Access lists (ACLs) / Firewall Filters;
- NAT / PAT;
- Loop prevention mechanisms at layer 2 (different kinds of STP);
- VLANs / Private VLANs;
- SNMP / Monitoring;
- Transport protocols TCP / UDP;
- Intermediate knowledge with firewalls;
- Zone based firewaling;
- Interface based firewalling;
- VPNs and tunneling: IPSec, GRE, SSL;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent English language skills (both written and spoken);

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

- Hands on with Juniper / Cisco;
- Operating system experience: Unix / Linux / Windows;
- Wireshark and packet sniffing;
- Bash scripting;
- Familiarity or experience with industry cloud offerings such as Rackspace, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and SoftLayer;
- Familiarity with automated cloud network and server provisioning;
- Operating system experience: Unix / Linux / Windows;
- Hands on with Juniper / Checkpoint / Netscaler / Vyatta / F5 devices;
- Familiarity or experience with Geo Load Balancing;
- Familiarity or experience SAN devices;
- BGP;
- VMWare / ESX Hypervisor;
- DMVPN / Auto-VPN;
