We are looking for talented designers to join the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY, to contribute to the development of advanced high-performance circuits in advanced node and exploratory technologies. We focus on circuit designs that enable the creation of differentiated solutions for a range of communication and computation challenges. Key areas of interest include analog, mixed-signal, and custom digital integrated circuit design applied to problems in data communications, wireless, or data conversion arenas. Because the work will involve exploratory technologies, it requires a deep understanding of the interaction between circuits and devices. Past experience in circuit design in exploratory technologies, such as superconducting circuits, is desirable (but not required), as is experience in high speed integrated circuit test. The candidate should have strong hands-on lab skills. A track record of completing complex integrated circuit designs demonstrating innovative elements is also desirable.
We are looking for a team player with strong writing and presentation skills, able to create and communicate technical ideas, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. This job will entail driving the development of new intellectual property. The candidate should have experience with relevant development tools, including Cadence and possibly Mentor, ADS, HFSS, and other industry standard tools.
The candidate must be able to work successfully with a diverse and dynamic team of both operational and technical personnel, collaborate with team members, work independently, and take own initiative.
