Junior Software Quality Engineer

Job Description
Are you a recent IT graduate passionate about good software quality and positive customer experience? Joining the IBM Software Lab in Krakow, you will have the opportunity to develop expertise in the domain of big data and data warehousing - much wanted know-how for years to come. As an agile practitioner, you will be working in a dynamic development environment on a variety of challenging tasks to best leverage your talents and develop technical competencies.

Tasks

  • preparing test cases and user scenarios based on defined quality strategies
  • executing tests, interpreting the results, and reporting defects
  • interacting with development team to solve problems
  • implementing automated tests
  • participating in test strategy definition and user experience analysis
  • interacting with customers (beta program, iteration demo, etc.) to gather feedback

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • university graduate of Computer Science or equivalent
  • understanding of the agile methodology in quality processes and the software production cycle
  • sensitivity to client needs and business requirements
  • focus on detail and passion about quality
  • ability to create and reuse advanced shells (Bash, Perl, Python)
  • solid Linux knowledge
  • good command of English


Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • experience in an agile/scrum team
  • experience in the continuous delivery model
  • experience in customer interaction
  • understanding of customer experience transformed into quality areas (e.g reliability, availability)
  • experience in context-based, exploratory, or scenario testing
