Infrastructure Specialist-System Administration

System Administrators are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a System Admin with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of, and access to, our most important resource: data.

Your Role and Responsibilities
• Responsible for providing remote and onsite server support services such as operations monitoring,
installation and troubleshooting
• Thorough applied technical knowledge of the fundamental concepts and technologies associated with Windows Operating Systems (Hardware, Software). Capable of performing installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery and performance tuning.
• Thorough applied technical knowledge of the fundamental concepts and technologies associated with VMWare Systems Support. Capable of performing installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery and performance tuning.
• Perform Disk Administration on External Disk Subsystems and SAN Administration.
• Provides second line of support in troubleshooting server related problems
• Work with IT security team to ensure servers are compliant to security standards.
• Provides regular server related reports such as capacity and availability.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Microsoft, Linux and Vmware certification are desired
    • Knowledge in scripting (powershell) is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge in supporting and implementing Windows 2012 servers including DHCP, DNS, SMTP and file servers.
    • Strong knowledge in virtualization using Vmware, SAN and ESXi
    • Strong knowledge in Windows active directory, group policies, file and access permissions.
    • Strong knowledge in Tivoli storage manager
    • Strong knowledge in IBM Big Fix
    • Strong knowledge in PGP and SQL
    • Strong knowledge in Windows and Linux operating sytsems.
    • Basic understanding of network technologies such as routing and IP addressing.



Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
