Infrastructure Specialist-Server Product Services, Linux & Open Source

Your Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for the support of solutions , implementation and systems integration, delivering high quality solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements. Tasks performed include integrating hardware, software, and network solutions. Identify project requirements, developing solution delivery, which may include vendors and subcontractors. Applying IT Specialist skills to support the operation and maintenance of customer solutions .
As an individual contributor or member of a team, performs a technical role in support of the solution construction, implementation, and system integration in a technology/industry specialty or product sales. The IT Specialist will:
- Delivering of high quality solutions to clients in response to specific business requirements. Develops technical skills and absorbs professional knowledge quickly.
- Performing assigned technical tasks including study, analysis, programming, product installation.
- Supporting solution construction, implementation, and system integration in a technology/industry specialty or product sales.
- Assisting in the delivery of high quality solutions to clients in response to specific business requirements.
The IT Specialist has some specific product, technology, or industry-related specialized skills and works with proposals, requirements, designs, implementations and production projects/engagements. May use tools to analyze and implement portions of a customer solution.
Incumbents draw upon technical skills and IT knowledge related to incumbent's position, team and department to provide services in an information technology environment. Consistently exercises discretion and independent judgment to support the attainment of department functions/objectives. Demonstrates some specific product, technology, or industry-related specialized skills and works with proposals, requirements, designs, implementations and production projects/engagements. Independently performs assigned technical tasks including study, analysis, design, programming, and product installation.
Knowledge Management: Global knowledge sharing and management is key to IBM's success. IT Specialists will participate in, and/or be responsible for the creation, harvesting, protection, and reuse of IBM's intellectual capital. They will participate actively in knowledge sharing activities like communities of practice, forums, conferences and/or other knowledge exchanges.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise
- Hands on expertise for managing day-to-day Harwdware Check , Break-Fix calls, installation and migration.
- Knowledge of SAN S/W and Storage Administration and integration with Server Platform.
- Proven problem solving and customer handling skill.
- Hands on experience on above technology.
- Knowledge of Unix and storage technology
- Should be able to provide L1 troubleshooting support for echnical issues and should be able to articulate technical issue to next level support effectively in case of deeper analysis requirement.
