Industry Consultant

Job Description

• Executes sales leadership and exhibits proficiency in identifying, qualifying and/or closing large/complex business and IT solution opportunities in one or more than one industry segments including Retail/ CPG, Travel & Transportation, Industrial Communication and Public/semi-government sector.

• Lead and drive business opportunities with high value consulting services offerings such as Digital Strategy/ Interactive Experience (IX), Process Re-engineering/ Process Services with Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Cloud ERP applications (SAP / Oracle/ Workday), Cloud Application Migration Services / microservices/ API re-architecture, Application Maintenance Services, aggregating cross-IBM brand offerings (software solution, cloud and technology services) around those opportunities if applicable.

• Demonstrates consultative approach to build relationship with key clients in different industry sectors and address executives' concerns/agenda with strong motivation and discipline to deliver the success for the clients.

• Demonstrates thorough organizational, business and professional skills and has primary responsibility for the success of bringing the appropriate solution to closure.

• Takes direction from the appropriate IBM leaders, as designated in the detailed description, and drives IBM's efforts to become the premier solutions provider.

• Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirement:

(1) Environment

• Leads the sales process with thorough sales, organizational, business and professional skills with consultative approach

• Demonstrates thorough business knowledge, industry practices to understand the client business issues and transformation agenda

• Demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding of the selected business solution, the IBM capabilities that surround this solution and how it can bring value to our client's business issues and transformation agenda

• Demonstrates and maintains strong relationships with the IBM Partners, executive and sales personnel.

• Advises other professionals within the discipline, leveraging previous client experience and knowledge.

• Demonstrates leadership and works effectively within a matrix environment.

• Oversees and involves as appropriate in project delivery to ensure client success and satisfaction

(2) Skills

• Leads consulting & systems integration project engagement with strong sales, consulting, organizational, business and professional skills.

• Demonstrates business knowledge to analyze and understand client's business issues.

• Demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding of the selected industry solutions, plan and execute services project to deliver sustainable client value.

• Advises other professionals within the discipline, leveraging previous client experience and knowledge.

• Demonstrates leadership and works effectively within a matrix environment.

(3) Contribution/Leadership:

• Is assigned to clients/opportunities that may be visible or competitive.

• Has thorough understanding of IBM business strategies and offerings and can articulate the value in context of their client's business needs.

(4) Technical Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree graduated

• At least 10 years IT industry experiences in Hong Kong

• Strong experience in managing global programmes and delivering consulting projects

• At least 4+ years project and people management skills, with 4+ years client facing experience

• Sales/Solutioning passion, Industry knowledge is preferred

• Strong network and relationship with a particular industry (Retail/CPG, Industrial, Travel and Transportation, Communication, Public/semi-government and etc.)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
