Cloud Services - SAP Basis Consultant

Job Description
IBM Cloud Managed Application Services is looking for a Cloud Services - SAP Basis Consultant who can join our global engineering and delivery team and actively engage with the existing team within a mixed customer environment residing on an enterprise-scale, managed cloud solution. Customers that need resilient infrastructure and the ability to scale up to large databases with many users gain the most benefit from Cloud Managed Services (CMS). With CMS, we build and manage the infrastructure including OS management, patching, backup, security, compliance with SLAs at the VM level. CMS is the only fully managed cloud with a choice of Intel or Power compute managed infrastructure. Managed Application services include SAP, SAP HANA and Oracle workloads.

This position involves maintenance of SAP application packaged solutions. They use internal standard procedures and SAP standard procedures into the clients' business environment in order to achieve client expected business results.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment
- Resolving monitoring and customer opened tickets based on procedures
- Perform changes on SAP environment based on a build plan
- Working with SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS)
- Configure and manage the SAP printing subsystem
- Manage SAP users, authorizations, and profiles
- Manage SAP database (MS-SQL, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, Hana)
- Maintenance of SAP systems (support packages, kernel upgrade, enhancement packages)
- Interacting and working with both internal and external customers on issue resolution and on-boarding procedures;
- Managing systems towards compliance with corporate security policies;
- Engage in 24/7 support periodically to assist in critical production issues to maintain the systems;
- Working with a ticketing software (Incidents, Service requests and Change management);
- Creating documentation and procedures (SOPs). Guiding and training junior colleagues;
- Communicating with and offering support to dedicated customers and other support teams located across the globe;
- Compliance with SLAs for tickets, projects and tasks;

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

- At least 5 years of experience in SAP Basis
- Knowledge of at least one of these RDBMS (ORACLE, DB2, Sybase, Hana, MSSQL)
- Knowledge of SAP Basis - NetWeaver environment
- Knowledge of Unix like systems (AIX, Linux) and Windows
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both in a team and alone
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
- Experience using ticketing systems;
- General understanding of ITIL/IT Service Management concepts and DevOps;
