Job Description

We see an urgent demand for consultants in our Analytics and Data Management practice since an increasing number of our customers are going through a Cognitive Transformation. We are looking for driven and experienced new colleagues to embrace this opportunity together with us.

As a Business Analytics and Data Management Consultant you will work with one or more of the following areas of expertise; Business Analysis, Information Governance or Cognitive Transformation/Program management (incl agile). You will work closely with our customers on their digital journeys.

IBM Analytics Services draws on the company's deep expertise in vertical industries, research, software and mathematics to help clients both improve the speed and quality of business decisions while better understanding the consequences and outcomes of those decisions. It draws together the concept of a Smarter Planet with the capabilities of IBM Research, the business process and modelling capabilities of GBS; Strategy, Experience & Change, Advanced Analytics, Business Intelligence & Performance Management, Information Management Foundation & Big Data as well as the entire Business Analytics and Information Management portfolio of our Software Group: including Watson, SPSS, Cognos, InfoSphere, FileNet, ILOG and Social Analytics.

The analytics consultant role is broad and diverse and will vary from project to project and from person to person. Typical responsibilities range from analysing business needs and requirements to solution outlining and project shaping to leading solution design and addressing business acceptance.

The role focuses on capturing the business needs related to data and information (both structured and unstructured) and translating it into possible analytical solutions that delivers the expected business value. You will be part of a team that defines and delivers solutions in the Analytics, Business Intelligence, Big Data and/or Data Warehousing domain at our clients. As an analytics consultant, you will get the opportunity to take on many different project roles related to those domains, e.g Business Analyst, Requirements Specialist, Solution Designer/Developer, industry SME, Project Manager, Information Governance Specialist etc. The consultant role is inherently flexible and will often take part in the full lifecycle of a project, although the role is typically more involved and visible in the beginning compared to the end of a project.

It is expected that the candidate has deep understanding of organizational and business change management in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Big Data and/or Data Warehousing projects. It is also expected that the candidate can manage sales oriented tasks, such as solution outlining, delivering pre-studies as well as estimating and planning full scale projects. Experience from system integration projects based on the leading software products in the business intelligence and analytics area is needed (Infosphere and Cognos is preferred). Experience of different delivery methods, e.g. agile delivery experience, would be advantageous.

Work location: Stockholm or Malmö

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 3 years experience in consultancy role
  • At least 2 years experience in the Analytics, Business Intelligence, Big Data and/or Data Warehousing domain, Information Governance, Project Management
  • Good business knowledge in at least one major industry
  • English: Fluent
  • Swedish: Fluent


Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience in Business Intelligence and tools (e.g. Cognos/TM1, QlikView, Tableau) and/or
  • Experience in Advanced Analytics and tools (e.g. SPSS, R, SAS)
    and/or
  • Experience in Data Integration based projects (e.g. InfoSphere)
