Java Developer for Data Migration

Main Responsibilities

  • Development of migration batches in Java with a custom batch framework
  • Testing of batches and analysis of problems during the migration
  • In addition, the developer will support the existing maintenance teams in:

- Analysis of production issues
- Corrections of program code and data (Java, SQL Updates)
- Implementation of change requests to the existing software

Knowledge required

  • 3+ years experience in Java Programming (Java SE, Java EE)
  • 3+ years SQL experience (complex SQLs, possibly SQL PL or PL/SQL)
  • Experience in professional software development (Requirements Management, Unit Testing, Static Code Analysis, DevOps)
  • Experience in Agile Projects (e.g. Scrum)

  • Unix Shell Scripting (KSH or similar)
  • Database Administration (IBM DB2)
  • Data Migration Experience
  • Batch Programming, Concurrency, Performance Optimization
  • Requirements Engineering
  • Rational Team Concert
  • German speaking
  • Good communication skills

Framework/Technology used:
  • Java / Custom Framework
  • IBM DB2 v11
  • IBM WebSphere

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Strong skills in Java EE
  • Experience with SQL, DevOPS

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Data Migration Experience
  • Unix Shell Scripting
