The success of our Analyst Relations function is an important and strategic imperative for IBM. Analyst Relations plays a critical, cross-functional strategy role by working with experts at many different levels of the organization across offering (product) management, engineering, communications, sales and marketing teams to leverage and influence important technology analysts.

Who You Are...
You have experience evaluating qualitative and quantitative research in the tech sector, and enjoy building relationships with industry influencers and internal stakeholders. Your storytelling proficiency is both persuasive and technically sound, and you write with precision and attention to detail. You are intelligently and persuasively conversant with industry experts - with an understanding of Cloud computing concepts, uses cases, and product offerings. Proactive in nature, you welcome the challenge to educate the most influential industry/technical/hybrid analysts, bloggers, etc., who work with existing/prospective IBM customers, key global media and financial markets. In short, you understand the market and competition... and know what's important.

Your Role on Our Team...
Your efforts will contribute to the development and execution the analyst strategy for IBM's Cloud offerings. This will include managing a cadence of creative messaging about the portfolio and client successes to key analysts and influencers who cover the digital transformation space. Your primary goals are...

  • Work with a broad range of stakeholders inside of IBM to develop an AR strategy to best influence the leading cloud analysts at Gartner and other analyst firms.

  • Grow a deep interest in the Cloud market; upskilling your capabilities and tool belt to go toe to toe with analysts and influencers on the subject

  • "Influence the influencers" with positive and informative materials

  • Build relationships to build trust and to enhance analysts' understanding of our capabilities

  • Increase IBM "share of mind" within the Analyst community

Your Core Responsibilities...

  • Develop, manage and execute a targeted strategy to influence - and get value from - the analyst community.

  • Maintain a strong cadence of analyst interactions.

  • Lead the response team on analyst evaluations and reports throughout the year, aiding in steering the entire research life cycle.

  • Manage and procure paid strategic research projects and marketing collateral on behalf of IBM to ensure that key analyst firms are actively engaged with IBM offerings

  • Assist with the development of analyst-targeted events.

  • Work with Marketing and appropriate analysts/consultants to create a variety marketing content, including papers (both qualitative and quantitative), webinars, and speaking engagements. Work with Marketing to locate and license syndicated analyst research to serve as valuable marketing campaign content.

In this role, you'll work closely and nurture relationships with the IBM Cloud business unit's multi-disciplinary teams of Strategists and Technologists to elevate IBM's story and customer successes. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of diverse work experience in more than one functional area such as: research, engineering, product management, product marketing, M&A, market research, consulting, Sales or account management, education, communications or strategy

  • 3+ years' experience working in or covering the tech industry, specifically in Cloud (Hybrid, Enterprise, Private, Public, or hosted)

  • Executive presence to counsel senior management regarding the market, competitive landscape and analyst outlook.

  • Experience presenting material in large and small venues

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Existing relationships with leading industry analysts/influencers in the cloud marketplace

  • 5+ years' experience in an Analyst Relations role

  • 3+ years' experience interacting with third-party Analyst Relations professionals
