Description
The Vendor Management Lead works as liaison between vendors and organization. The Vendor Management Lead reviews and negotiates terms of vendor contracts and communicates with vendors regarding day-to-day matters. Builds and maintains positive relationship with vendors and monitors vendor performance. Researches invoice and contractual issues and resolves discrepancies. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Supervises and leads a team of Vendor Management Professionals.
Responsibilities
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead efforts to identify and manage third party risk across financial, operational, reputational, information security, human resources and contractual risk domains.
- Influence and continuously improve alignment of vendor performance with Humana Government Business strategic intents.
- Lead vendor statement of work construction, changes, service level agreements and financial incentives in a manner that protects Humana interests and aligns vendor outcomes with Humana interests.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key vendor personnel; perform regular site visits.
- Engage with HGB leaders to recommend out-sourcing/multi-sourcing solutions.

Required Qualifications
- Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position
- Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (eQIP - Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing)
- 5 years of experience in health care or health insurance
- 2 years of experience managing vendors
- Strong facilitation and relationship building skills
- Performance and Process Improvement skills
- Strong Data Analysis skills
- Risk Identification and Management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- TRICARE program experience
Work at Home Requirements
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
- Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
