Humana is building a best-in-class Marketing organization to drive profitable membership growth across diverse business lines. The Marketing Technology & Data Platforms team is a part of Humana's Marketing & Communications organization, supporting marketing initiatives across the full consumer lifecycle. Having a solid foundation of capabilities and processes that are agile, modern and platforms-based is imperative to executing efficient and effective marketing strategies across all insurance and healthcare services segments. We are leading transformation within the Marketing organization, and as such, are seeking an experienced Innovation Portfolio Strategy Professional to organize and prioritize projects and programs based on Marketing Technology strategy, strategic roadmap, available and prioritized budgets, and governance structures to ensures that the appropriate financial and organizational support is being allocated in support of those goals.

The successful candidate is a strategic thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills who can adapt and tailor messaging to various levels of the organization. We're looking for an individual who has a thorough understanding of business strategy and execution and is a self-starter with a proven ability to assist executives in developing functional strategies on matters of significance. This individual has a technology background with the ability to connect business strategy and needs with IT program management methodology. This individual exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Key Role Functions

  • Serve as a liaison between Marketing and IT stakeholders and drive accountability as appropriate
  • Collaborate with marketing teams, technology teams, and other cross-functional partners to determine and evolve marketing technology best practices
  • Support the implementation of agile ways of working across the Marketing organization
  • Create and maintain portfolio roadmaps reflecting continuous change
  • Partner with IT and Finance to manage portfolio budgets
  • Measure and monitor portfolio performance against strategic priorities and business goals
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews at multiple levels to report progress (QBRs)
  • Plan and facilitate strategic planning activities
  • Support change management at all levels of the organization
  • Support Marketing Technology leadership by driving critical projects and strategic initiatives to support transformation and growth

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of Marketing, IT or operational experience
  • 3+ years of experience in project leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills working with multiple sources of data
  • Ability to effectively partner with multiple teams (e.g., stakeholders, functional partners, external vendors) in a matrixed organization
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and effortlessly moves between strategic and tactical activities
  • Possess a solid understanding of operations, technology, communications, and processes

Additional Requirements

All Humana associates approved for the Home or Hybrid Home/Office work styles are required to self-provide wireless, wired cable or DSL access to the internet at the connectivity speeds required by the company to successfully perform their job with the exception of associates who live or work from home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Connectivity requirements are detailed below.

Connectivity - Requirement Details
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
  • Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)

Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
