The Lead Infrastructure Architect designs and develops IT infrastructure architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Lead Infrastructure Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Lead Network Infrastructure Architect performs technical planning, architecture development, network optimization, integration with existing platforms and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new IT infrastructure products and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Network Infrastructure Architect defines the technology standards for Data Center, LAN, WAN, Wireless, Network Function Virtualization, Network Segmentation, Remote Access Technologies, Cloud Exchange Points and MultiCloud Connectivity. Drives the Digital Transformation, Work At Home, Cloud Connectivity Optimization, Software Defined Network and Network Automation initiatives. Coaches and mentors other members of the network engineering team and provides Subject Matter Expertise. The Network Architect will be responsible for researching new technologies, and proposing recommendations on future strategies and enhancement.

Responsibilities will include:

Translate high-level business strategic objectives and goals into network technology requirements and conceptual designs

Develop and support comprehensive network solutions that meet requirements and integrate into the overall enterprise network and security architecture

Participate in IT network infrastructure project design, reviews and ensure network architecture goals and requirements are met

Well versed in cloud architectures, software defined networking, data center switching technologies, and securing virtual environments (AWS, Azure, Google desired)

Assess vendor development/test strategies to create Network Technology road maps

Evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate them into existing or new systems and create leadership presentation materials.

Work as an individual contributor, as a technical expert and as a participant in a team environment

Support and collaborate on the development, implementation and administration of processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, and optimum performance of network infrastructure systems and solutions

Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects

Write functional requirements/specifications documents

Define standards, templates, procedures, and tools to provide highly reliable network systems operations.

Establishes best practices through collaboration with IT teams across the enterprise and external partners.

Lead complex infrastructure deployment and troubleshooting efforts

Excellent written/documentation and verbal communications skills

Requirements

Advanced knowledge of and experience with networking and network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, DNS, DDNS, DHCP, Load Balancing, VXLAN, VPNs, IP routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, LISP, IP Multicast and MPLS,

Experience with Policy Based Routing, Quality of Service, NetFlow, Wireless, virtual networks, Digital Network Architecture, ACI, NAT, ACL controls, IPv4 and IPv6

Experience with SDN, SD-WAN, SD-LAN products and services and working knowledge of structured cabling systems and network facilities

Experience in architecting and implementing Multi-Cloud and Hybrid Cloud Networks

Experience with programming Python, Ansible or shell scripting, especially as it relates to SDN.

Proven ability to accomplish assigned tasks with little supervision

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

10 or more years of infrastructure experience with progressive experience in Network Infrastructure Engineering or Architecture

2 or more years of project engineering leadership experience

Experience integrating new technologies with existing technologies

Experience implementing technologies with enterprise-wide impact

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Demonstrated confidence with the ability to present and have leadership facing conversations

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in a Technical Field

CCIE

PMP or PMI certification
