The Encounter Application Architect is responsible for all aspects of software or hardware product delivery and performance. The Application Architect work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Encounter Application Architect will work with design engineering and test team to drive products from design completion to volume production release. This role will be accountable for architecture oversight of the interfaces into and out of our Encounter platform. This role will advise on approach for new Medicaid state implementations and existing business including upgrade recommendations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Performs technical planning, architecture development and various engineering tests to verify and validate product designs.
  • Supports product evaluation and qualification on leading edge technology components.
  • Ensures that production schedules are followed and product(s) meet specifications and quality requirements.
  • Begins to influence department's strategy.
  • Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 5 or more years of technical experience
  • Experience in Healthcare industry
  • Experience in Encounter Data Creation and Submissions
  • Experience with the technologies in use in the application(s) or infrastructure
  • Experience with EDI interfaces
  • Ability to work with a Cloud-based Vendor SaaS application and be accountable for the interfaces between Humana and this application (i.e., enrollment feeds, provider data, claims, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across varying levels of personn

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 yeas of Health insurance experience or Medicaid experience
  • MBA or other Advanced Degree
  • Demonstrated ability running large scale projects
  • Experience with technology solutions assessments and/or strategy planning oversight

Work-At-Home Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
