Desktop Administrator Intern

HRT is looking for an undergraduate intern to join our Systems team as a Desktop Admin! The Systems team is responsible for improving and maintaining our live trading and research environments. This includes the servers, networks, data storage, operating systems, and software. As a Desktop Admin Intern you will master a wide variety of skills in a casual but demanding work environment. You will be responsible for helping triage problems, troubleshoot Macs, Windows PCs, and Linux machines, and assist with IT administrative tasks. Must be able to work 15-20 hours a week in our Manhattan office.

We are looking for an intern who has an interest or skill in any of the following:
  • Writing clear documentation and triaging problems
  • Linux, macOS, and Windows desktop/laptop experience (Linux and macOS experience heavily preferred)
  • IT Security
  • Coordinating, planning, and performing small to large scale IT projects
  • Programming and scripting to automate manual processes

REQUIREMENTS
  • You should be an undergraduate student pursuing a BS or BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or similar
  • Able to work in lower Manhattan during the school year 
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Proven track record of 1 year or more supporting desktops and laptops
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be available to work roughly 15-20 hours a week
