Position Summary

As member of the Executive Management Team (EMT), the national Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) liaises and facilitates a cohesive national voice around product and service innovation, working with regional leaders (CMOs/Chief Sales Officers (CSOs)/Presidents/Specialty leaders) to capitalize on regional and local market opportunities and develops and leads a coordinated and leveraged insurer relationship strategy, adapting to the unique dynamics of regional execution models. The CMO is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic plan to maximize revenue growth for all of HUB Canada. Reporting to the CEO of Canada, the CMO will have two direct reports and dotted line relationships that require strong influencing skills to gain alignment for an integrated approach towards initiatives across Canada. This position is based in Toronto, Ontario
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management

  • Effectively facilitate and liaise with Insurers, Presidents, CMOs CSOs, and Specialty leaders across Canada to capitalize on regional and local market opportunities
  • Partner with CSOs to prioritize and rationalize growth initiatives and participate in Critical Path sessions to coach Producers and Account Managers
  • Provide direction and assistance with large complex placements and programs in association with Office Leaders and centralized placement resources
Insurer Knowledge and Support
  • Lead and develop a coordinated insurer relationship strategy leveraging executive insurer partnerships. Understand each insurer's regional appetite and performance strengths/weaknesses and lead and coordinate productive interactions between insurers and Producers
  • Foster and support success through the utilization of data analytics to monitor monthly performance, partnerships and relationships
  • Ensure insurer and HUB commitments to service level agreements with key partners
  • Organize and facilitate annual business planning meetings with key partners
  • Develop a keen understanding of insurer regional competitive profiles based on risk profile, project knowledge, claims trends, etc. Leverage relationships with insurers to build competitive knowledge
Product Development
  • Identify and develop innovative best in class solutions for our clients in support of Producers in the pursuit of new business as well as increased client retention
  • Coordinate benchmarking data to validate and reinforce Hub's program recommendations and competitive position
  • Promote Portfolio diversification as a means to achieving better than industry standard growth and profitability
  • Prepare and share educational material
  • Confirm that new products are aligned with innovation leadership priorities
Shaping Culture
  • Create a highly informed and accountable culture through the communication of expectations and facilitation of knowledge for all levels from the Executive Management Team (EMT) to the Producers, Account Managers and other regional and local staff.
  • Work in partnership with HUB regional Presidents in support of business plans
  • Role model and encourage team members to leverage available information through the use of HUB systems and tools

Qualifications
  • Four year degree in Business or related discipline; advanced degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance industry property and casualty, risk management, life and health insurance and bank related insurance products in a senior production or leadership role with a national scope
  • A strong brand within the Insurance or related industry
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Insurance Brokers License preferred; Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) license is highly preferred
