Insurance Account Manager - Internship

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Sales Executives in gathering risk information and quoting
  • Learning about agency management system for policy set up, documentation, scanning, and attaching
  • Review change requests and cancellations in agency management system and carrier systems
  • Assist in preparing ID cards, binders, certificates, and other insurance documents as requested
  • Help in monitoring incoming mail
  • Assist in processing incoming payments from clients
  • Learn about processing endorsement requests and submitting information to appropriate insurance companies and other third parties
  • Assist in renewal processing
  • Assist service units with change requests, audit processing, and monthly reporting as well as various clerical duties
  • Scanning/electronic filing of communication documents
  • Maintain good working relationships within office and department
  • Provide phone assistance for office when needed

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • During normal business hours; can be flexible with scheduling
  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university and maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA (3.5 GPA for graduate students)
  • Must be comfortable working with proprietary information and be able to maintain confidentiality
  • High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize is required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
