POSITION SUMMARY:

The Employee Benefits Market Leader (EBML) is responsible for implementing and executing the strategy for sales and service as part of the overall plan, for assigned Employee Benefits offices within the Western Region. It will be based in San Ramon or San Francisco.

EXPECTATIONS and DELIVERABLES:

National level:

  • Attend Bi-Annual National Employee Benefits Practice Meetings
  • Bring ideas/needs to the national team from the region and drive national initiatives, locally (see below)

Regional/Local level:

  • Develop a culture of teamwork among the Regional EB Practice
  • Facilitate EB growth of the Hub location – set goals with Regional HUB President and CSO
  • New sales
  • Retention
  • Cross selling of P&C and Employee Benefits
  • Identify and recruit high caliber Employee Benefits producers
  • Assist in presenting Regional Employee Benefits Practice to potential acquisitions
  • Communicate the availability of resources/tools and execute National Practice and initiatives within local offices
  • Support implementation of Benefit Point, Zywave and other National initiatives
  • Conduct (minimally) Bi-Annual Regional Practice Meetings for the local market team (as an extension of the National Practices)
  • Help close EB opportunities and promote cross-selling of EB to the local PC teams
  • Identify resource needs for regional Employee Benefits Practice with Regional President
  • Fully understand the dynamics of the local market including ACO development, Private Exchange solutions and more
  • Help identify Regional Specialists (or serve in those roles):
  • Wellness Expert
  • Employee Benefits Strategic Resource Manager
  • Communications Support Specialist
  • Private Exchange Expert (local market)
  • Underwriter/Data Analytics
  • BenefitPoint Super-User
  • Zywave Super-User
  • Organize and assist producers in client seminars and education
  • Develop mentorship programs and training materials for account management team
  • Support regional Best Practice guidelines
  • Standardize processes when able including small group servicing
  • Act as Executive Sponsor for key clients; address client survey results

FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Extensive experience in Employee Benefits in each designated market – 10 years experience preferred
  • Thought Leader Capital – this individual must be recognized by that HUB office as the EB expert with respect to decision-making, conducting carrier negotiations, etc.
  • Highly Developed organization and time management
  • Hands-on manager – Enjoys mentoring and direct management of staff, desire to work alongside account management team in the field to help retain and grow existing business.
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral and written communications as well as use of electronic media (e.g. MO Outlook tools)

  • Prior experience with annual budgeting process preferred
  • Currently licensed and in good standing in required lines and states
