Commercial Lines Account Manager

Position Summary:

In this role, the Account Manager may promote HUB's insurance products to new and existing clients. Also, the incumbent will be responsible for the detailed, accurate and timely management of documentation and data entry of information pertaining to accounts, while processing/issuing policies and changes in the programs department including sub broker business.Additional responsibilities may include preparation of regular reports and working on ad hoq projects as required.

Account Managers work with a book of business, building up long-term relationships with clients. They play a central role in introducing new insurance products to the market, developing new customers while also seeking to renew existing accounts.

Account Managers have a detailed knowledge of a limited number of HUB's commercial programs and can target policies to their clients to supply the most appropriate product.

VIP Personal Insurance - review, process and ensure accuracy of all property and auto applications, renewals and endorsements of the Programs Department new and existing personal insurance client base.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Commercial Insurance

  • Responsible for all aspects of Commercial Programs policy issuance including new business, renewals, midterm endorsements, certificates of insurance, update and prepare program surveys & worksheets as required, initiate claims process with relevant insurer, complete monthly reporting requirements to program carriers.
  • Take client calls and answer questions regarding coverages, accept and process online quotes.
  • Service sub brokered business by responding to various requests as required via telephone and/or email, including sub-broker accounts receivable management.
  • Process and issue invoices for Programs Department; liaise with Accounting regarding incoming payments as required.
  • Maintain electronic client files in broker management system; Commercial/Programs & Personal Lines.
  • Negotiate with insurers on coverage and price so as to best meet the needs of the client
  • Collect premiums from clients in a timeline pursuant to HUB standards
  • Advocate for clients during claims process

VIP Personal Insurance
  • Review & process of property & auto renewals, new business, endorsements, activities, downloads & invoicing for completeness and accuracy.
  • Correspond with personal lines clients via telephone and/ or email as required.
  • Common Personal Lines functions including, review and process changes/renewals using broker management system; submit client change requests (endorsements) to insurers and manage activities as required, prepare letters to clients regarding coverage changes, renewals; submit notice of loss to carriers as required; maintain and update clients' files.
  • Negotiate with insurers on coverage and price so as to best meet the needs of the client
  • Collect premiums from clients in a timeline pursuant to HUB standards
  • Advocate for clients during claims process

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Three years' related experience
  • College diploma and/or university degree or equivalency
  • RIBO license; CIP/CAIB/CRM designations preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal), present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive
  • Proficiency in typing and with computer applications, including MS suite
  • Experienced in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
