Commercial Lines Account Associate, Specialty Risks

HUB International in Toronto, Ontario is currently looking for an organized and ambitious Account Associate to support a diverse commercial book of business. This is an ideal role for an organized team player with strong administrative support and commercial insurance experience. This role will support Commercial Lines Account Managers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing Contracts and Indemnity Provisions
  • Supporting market placement
  • Ensuring all client records (policies/bonds, correspondence, emails, etc.) are uploaded to our system (EPIC) and shared drive
  • Managing account concerns or issues encountered and successfully addressing small to complex problems in a timely manner by applying judgement as to when and what to escalate up to senior colleagues
  • Preparing renewal files for Client Executives 90+ days prior to renewal
  • Provides our internal and external clients with prompt, courteous and professional service
  • Prepares client pre-renewal and renewal packages, policies, submissions, binders, letters, summaries and invoices in a timely manner
  • Analyzes client coverage, exposures and loss experience to determine risk requirements
  • Reviews policy wordings and other documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepares marketing submissions with responsibility for correspondence and negotiations with underwriters
  • Assists in collection of Accounts Receivables while adhering to HUB International file management standards
  • Calculates and invoices transactions. Prepare premium financing contracts and other monthly payment plan options
  • Reviews requirements and executes issuance of certificates of insurance
  • Works in partnership with Accounts Receivable on client collections actions on outstanding accounts while updating the Account Manager on status or required support.
  • Prepares marketing submissions with responsibility for correspondence and negotiations with underwriters
  • Participates in client renewal meetings
  • Provides suggestions for continuous improvements in workflows and procedures
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Post-Secondary Education or commensurate work experience
  • RIBO Licensed
  • 2-3 years of commercial insurance account experience desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational, time and client management skills
  • Effective communication skills: verbal and written
  • Thrive on paying attention to details, and work well under the pressure of deadlines and multiple priorities
