Commercial Account Manager

Our team is growing, and we are looking for an Account Manager in our Commercial Auto division. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with people and manages a middle market book of insurance business, providing a high level of service to our existing commercial auto clients. You will also help our team build relationships with prospects and new clients. Think of yourself as a Relationship Manager.

What you offer us:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Property & Casualty License
  • Commercial transportation insurance experience, preferably at a brokerage
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Superior customer service and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with our sales and service team on all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewals
  • Handle preparation and implementation of all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts
  • Acquire an understanding of clients' needs and critically analyze and compare insurance plans to determine the best fit
  • Stay abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact clients
  • Make appropriate recommendations to clients in response to these changes
  • Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve service issues
  • Negotiate with underwriters and carriers and troubleshoot claims and billing issues
  • Be responsible for the retention of accounts in your assigned book of business
  • Develop new business from existing accounts and assigned leads and contribute to meeting departmental production goals
  • Identify and follow-up on cross-selling opportunities
  • Participate in or conduct client meetings
  • Appropriately documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives and updates all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems. Ensures the accuracy of data in those systems.
  • Prepare reports for management
  • Attend industry related continuing education training and courses
