Assistant Account Executive (EB Wholesale)

Job Function:

To assist account executives in processing daily account activity. To provide technical support in accordance with company operating procedures: Background in Employee Benefits preferred (Health Insurance and related lines).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintaining account folders in accordance with internal guidelines
  2. Check policy coverage's on all new business and renewals for accuracy and relevance
  3. Prepare employee benefit proposals, policy summaries and reviews
  4. Process individual and group enrollments with various insurance carriers.
  5. Work with Accounting department to make sure sold accounts are properly processed.
  6. Handle or refer insured's and underwriter's questions.
  7. Perform other specific duties as directed by the Account Executive
  8. Pursue a program of professional development
  9. Begin studies for appropriate licenses if not licensed
  10. Respond to service inquiries
  11. Process add/term requests
  12. Prepare benefit and cost comparisons
  13. Process new business (on-boarding of cases)
  14. Provide assistance in managing renewal process
  15. Respond to service inquiries
  16. Follow up with carriers to obtain outstanding information
  17. Update internal reporting systems and internal databases (as necessary)

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years related experience
  • Associates degree preferred. Begin Technical education training for licenses
  • Detail oriented with good mathematical and communication skills
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and research employee benefit lines of insurance
  • Good typing skills and computer literacy
  • Ability to work within designated time frames
  • Good interpersonal skills

Required Education: Associate degree (2-year degree)

Required Travel: Negligible
