Account Manager I - Commercial Lines

The Account Manager II is accountable for delivering excellent and efficient service through day-to-day account management of an assigned group of accounts. The Account Manager II has a direct impact on agency success by achieving client retention goals, effectively and consistently ensuring client satisfaction, and fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, trust, respect and teamwork while focusing on continuous improvement.The Account Manager II will serve as a mentor to the Account Manager I, provide direction to Account Manager Assistants I and/or II(s), and support Producers.The Account Manager II uses discretion and judgment in determining coverage needs for clients and in carrier and client negotiations.

Client and Carrier Relations

Establishes and builds customer and carrier relationships; responds to client coverage inquiries; reviews contracts and agreements for insurance coverage compliance; addresses coverage issues; maintains accurate and complete client documentation; serves as a liaison between clients and carriers to resolve service issues and policy interpretation; critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability; collaborates with Producers in policy review and delivery, meets with clients occasionally; identify ways to improve client service.

Renewals

Remarkets renewals with carriers to include gathering information and reviewing applications and submissions for accuracy and completeness; negotiates terms, pricing and conditions with carriers; works with Producers to provide renewal information in accordance with renewal timelines; prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals; provides support in identifying client insurance needs, gaps in coverage and loss exposure; recommends appropriate insurance coverage, binds coverage, manages timely production and delivery of renewal policies.

Billing and Collections

Contacts clients regarding outstanding receivables; invoices clients; reviews and maintains accounting history, correcting any discrepancies as needed in order to maximize agency profitability.

Team Resource

Fosters an environment of innovation; serves as a mentor to Account Manager I(s) and AMA I and II(s); engages in proactive problem solving with Producers and clients; proactively uses, and supports use of, agency resources (outsourced partners, technologies, etc.) and processes in order to ensure efficient use of time.

Department Account Management & Service

Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience

Required Travel: Negligible

Required Education: Associate degree (2-year degree)
