Senior Manager, Device as a Service Modern IT Workflows & Solution Architecture

The team is seeking a Senior Manager with a passion for technology and products and who wants to revolutionize the IT industry by delivering endpoint management and security as a service. This role will be responsible for building the technical expertise in our team and will design IT workflows used by HP remote agents to deliver managed endpoint services for DaaS. This leader's mission will be to modernize and scale endpoint management and security IT workflows so that we can effectively and proactively manage millions of endpoints spanning Windows PC's, iOS, Android and Mac OS.

The person will make a big impact to HP by developing highly technical and innovative service delivery processes; troubleshooting issues affecting fleets of devices; leveraging AI and machine learning to develop automated workflows; and to develop processes and drive tool enablement that lets us deploy solutions to millions of devices. This role will contribute directly to the growth of HP, its customers and it partners. This person will work closely with product management, technology partners, channel partners, customers and internal technologists though direct and indirect reports. Specifically, this person is responsible for crafting and delivering a stellar customer experience for DaaS APM. This position reports to the Senior Director of DaaS Offer Enablement in the Emerging Compute Solutions global business unit and has people management responsibilities. This role has accountability to provide guidance and direction of activities for 9+ direct reports and where staff may be situated in more than one location. Through this leadership position, the individual will be expected to routinely exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate across the extended organization to establish and aligned vision for modern IT workflows supported through the Analytics and Proactive Management platform within HP's DaaS offering

  • Build a strategic plan based on OS knowledge, modern management toolsets, customer insight and a keen understanding of EMM and analytics technology
  • Influence hardware, software and cloud product development to deliver holistic endpoint lifecycle services using both human and AI techniques
  • Envision the future state technology of HP Services and provide direct and ongoing leadership for direct organization in developing new operational methods and enhancements to the platform to achieve that vision

Build out partnerships with key ecosystem players to realize the vision
  • Drive technical and business alignment with our product/ services offerings
  • Manage VP-level strategic and tactical engagement both internally and with external stakeholders (customers and partners)
  • Influence hardware, software and cloud product development to deliver modern IT workflows, analytics and reporting

Lead the technical solutions architect team to enable IT transformation for HP DaaS customers; building and executing delightful experiences for our customers
  • Design the software-enabled service infrastructure needed to support external customer requirements
  • Enable and lead a differentiated delivery experience through HP DaaS Analytics and Proactive Management tool kit
  • Drive change through people, process and technology tool innovation
  • Understand the core business processes, and apply current technology trends to innovate for the future
  • Design customer first processes, demonstrating an ability to create conceptual mock-ups and process maps
  • Stay knowledgeable of cutting edge technology trends
  • Direct and influence multiple groups across diverse business units to drive unified solutions
  • Work closely with the sales team and our product management and design teams to enable a feature set that resonates with customers and our channel partners
  • Influence the engineering product development of cloud-based IT (including IT infrastructure, connectivity and applications) solutions

Lead and manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and cost for multiple ongoing internal and external facing projects
  • Span of control may range from 8 - 10+ individual contributors, organization may grow as customer base and service feature delivery model evolves
  • Ensure resources are appropriately allocated and that goals / objectives are being met in accordance with business priorities (customer ramp into DaaS as well as new feature expansion)
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
  • Provides overall mentor and leadership for direct reports, including hiring, setting, monitoring, coaching and career development; fosters a growth mindset attitude in all activities and expectations of team members
  • Achieves diversity and other HR goals

Skills Required:

  • Advanced experience of IT processes, tools and solutions
  • Deep expertise and working knowledge of EMM/device management
  • Deep expertise and working knowledge of OS - including Windows, iOS, Mac and Android
  • Know technically how to troubleshoot blue screens and app crashes
  • Functional knowledge around analytics and machine learning
  • Deep knowledge of cloud services, software and mobility hardware technology
  • Customer focused always
  • Excellent written/oral communications and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build, consensus building, manage and influence virtual teams
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and functional disciplines


Education & Additional Criteria Required:
  • BA or BS in Marketing or Technology related field, advanced university degree preferred
  • Typically 10+ years' experience in product management or development at a technology company (hardware, cloud, SaaS or large scale cloud services vendor)
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant software experience
  • ITIL Certification preferred, strong understanding of ITIL tools, processes and terminology a plus
