Repair & Maintenance Technician

The HP WebPress Repair and Maintenance Technician ues ability as a skilled specialist to contribute to the development of new concepts/techniques and to complete assignments/tasks in innovative and effective ways. Expert knowledge on the general/technical aspects of the job. Works on assignments that are highly complex in nature where a strong degree of independent judgment, initiative and technical knowledge are required to resolve problems. Work is completed independently and has ability to handle most unique situations. Frequently determines methods and procedures for new assignments. May supervise the activities of other non-exempt employee.

Technician Primary Job Responsibilities:

Completing project and experiment requests against schedules, delivering quality product & services, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Support partners by assembling press equipment, tooling and cables, identifying and making modifications as needed, validating software/ firmware revisions, and performing system integration. Teardown of presses for shipping, installation and post installation support. Testing of web press testbeds, support tools, beta's, and production presses.

Coordinate activities and assist in ensuring testbeds & tools meet site safety & SSME requirements.

Coordinate activities and assist engineering to test / validate / implement changes needed for UL, CE, and/or other country product safety certifications.

Demonstrate expert knowledge on the general/technical aspects of the job

Tooling: assembly and build

Electrical / Electronics: reading schematics, wiring, pcb and component level troubleshooting, micro-soldering

Design & Development Tools; Onespace, AutoCad, CADENCE

Equipment software & computer integration (Linux, C++, Labview, Visual Basic, machine code etc.)

Create and update documentation: electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, software, maintenance and repair, etc.

Frequently determines methods and procedures for new assignments.

May lead and coordinate the activities of other non-exempt employees.

Demonstrate the skills necessary in a high performance environment including versatile technical competence, judgment, flexibility, leadership, project management, dependability, initiative, productivity, communication skills, ability to multitask, work independently or in a team, and meeting timeline with full commitment to quality and safety

Must be willing and able to travel.

Education and Experience Required:

Associate's degree. May include highly experienced individuals performing equivalent work who are non-degreed or degreed in an unrelated field or equivalent vocational or military training. Advanced knowledge of the field of electro mechanical technology.

Knowledge and Skills:

Advanced knowledge of the field of electro mechanical technology and software.

HIGHLY DESIRED:

Previous web press or industrial printing experience

Manufacturing production line start-up and tear down experience

Strong electronics component level troubleshooting experience

High understanding of software & computer integration.

Strong capabilities in fundamental concept and theory research, development, and exploration.
