Typically supervises lower-level supervisors and/or highly-skilled non-exempt individual contributors in single functional area. Responsible for the supervision of activities and resources needed to support the day-to-day efforts of the department and to achieve the business plan. Provides general supervision to lower level supervisors and direct supervision to highly-skilled non-exempt employees. Provides direction and expertise to departmental teams and participates in cross-department initiatives. Acts as a point of escalation for subordinate employees as well as supervisors. Does not require day-to-day supervision, and has the ability to handle most unique situations. May need advice in order to make decision on complex business issues. Primary Responsibilities:

Provide the Technical leadership required to manage and continually develop a team of technicians responsible for the safe maintenance, process, development, and delivery of new and existing products. This is accomplished through coaching, technical mentoring, formal career development and challenging the team to make breakthrough changes in coordination with engineering and production. Develops and monitors process and equipment performance metrics to maximize yield, equipment utilization, and productivity relative to cost and program goals. Ensures smooth transitions and releases of new processes and equipment into production using formal criteria. Recruits, selects, trains, develops, appraises performance, and administer salaries of reporting staff as well as ensuring they have the resources required to meet their objectives.

Technician supervisors are first line supervisors for the technicians on their assigned shift. They take a leadership role within the Workcenter and/or infrastructure teams as curators providing forecasts for Budget, monitoring performance to goals through metrics, establishing action plans wherever goals are not met, and creating strategic roadmaps and tactical plans for continuous improvements and the release of new products and processes in coordination with engineering. They are also responsible for day-today line management responsibilities. In addition they may also own other global projects or cross-organizational responsibilities. Time is shared between these activities in varying percentages and may require the supervisor to spend time on other shifts, as needed, to accomplish their objectives.

Musts/Skills needed:

  • 2 or 4 year degree in a technical discipline OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated leadership of individuals, teams, or projects
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent people management and communication skills
  • Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively

    Wants:
  • Prior management experience
  • Three years experience in Equipment Maintenance, Equipment Engineering, or Process Development
  • Strong PC skills and experience with information systems and metrics used by FAB to measure and respond to equipment, process, and line performance
  • Knowledge of business fundamentals
  • Experience working with engineering in a development environment
  • Three years experience working in a FAB (Cleanroom)

This position will be working the Night shift, from 11pm to 7:30am
