Director, Commercial Notebook Product Management - New Product Introductions and Sustaining

The Product Management New Product Introductions (NPI) & Sustaining Director leads an experienced, high performing global team of Product Managers, Launch Manager, and Lifecycle Support Managers.

The team is responsible for all new product introductions and sustaining products for the Commercial Notebook portfolio. Close collaboration with supporting Teams such as Product Planning, Engineering & System Management, NPI Messaging, Center of Excellence (COE), and Global Sales is critical to drive successful product launches and a profitable business.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver New products according to Plan of Record (POR), meeting Scope, Schedule, and Budget targets
  • Develop accurate and on-time NPI materials to support launch that align to strategy and experiences, consistent with KSPs and value proposition
  • Support launch and announce planning in collaboration with NPI Messaging, WW Marketing, PR, Content Operations Teams
  • Manage the products through the lifecycle: Development, NPI, Sustaining and EOL
  • Manage complexity within the established metrics
  • Facilitate relationships and cross functional collaboration with CO, R&D, System Management, Supply Chain, Consumer
  • Develop and lead a team of high performing, engaged Product Managers
  • Develop processes and advance best practices to promote continuous improvement in launch execution and product content deliverables
  • Represent and advocate for HP's commercial notebook product management organization in cross-functional process improvement initiatives


Education, Experience and Skills:
  • Requires a BA or BS degree, MBA or equivalent preferred, minimum 10 years in product management
  • Solid understanding of product planning and development processes, key milestones and the interdependent steps required to bring products to market
  • Experience leading and developing global teams
  • Regional experience is a plus
  • Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
  • Strong influencing and consensus-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with all levels of the company
  • Working knowledge of business plan fundamentals. E.g. 4P plans
  • Well-developed understanding of the industry
