Current Business Director - PageWide Web Press

The PageWide Web Press (PWP) Division has an opening for a Core Business Marketing Director. The Core Business in PWP is made up of four markets; Transaction, Direct Mail/Marketing, General Commercial Printing, and Publishing. Our value proposition to our customers is to Provide Outstanding Print Quality, Wide Application Versatility, and High Productivity with Superior Economics that lowers their Total Cost of Ownership and Protects their Long Term Investment. Our strategy is two-fold; move offset pages to our digital platforms based on superior cost/performance economics, and grow new printed pages that take advantage of the benefits of digital (e.g., high variable data, mass serialization, linked technology with the internet of things). The role of this position will be to champion these strategies and drive sales and service in the core PWP markets.

The major responsibilities include:

  • Co-own core market P&L responsibilities (with General Manager)
  • Lead PWP strategy and tactics with WW Marketing, Sales, and Service Regions that result in a scaled core business consistent with long term P&L
  • Lead core market in:
  • competitive analysis and business market development
  • sales operations and business management
  • solutions and 3 rd party relationships
  • technology and solutions roadmaps (in collaboration with PWP R&D Director)
  • operations execution (in collaboration with PWP Operations Director)
  • Partner with other Graphics Solution Business (GSB) divisions to effectively grow overall GSB revenue and profit (e.g., Indigo, Large Format, Scitex, Specialty Printing Solutions, Graphics Solutions Services)

Education and Experience Required:

  • 8 years of experience in leading Marketing/Sales in an industrial market (printing preferred) at the executive level
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing/Sales/Engineering (MBA desired)
  • Ability to relocate to San Diego, Ca.
  • 50%+ domestic and international travel

  • Strong marketing and sales leadership experience in industrial markets
  • Ability to collaborate and provide leadership to WW sales, marketing, and services organizations
  • Strong business acumen and organizational savvy
  • Ability to quickly learn complex technologies and business models
  • Ability to lead change and adapt to a changing business environment
  • Proven track record in operational excellence (i.e., in a leadership role)
  • Strong verbal/written/presentation skills (i.e., strong executive presence)
  • Leadership to drive organization effectiveness and efficiency
