Content Developer

The HP Print Design organization is hiring an experienced information developer to write and manage UI text and user-assistance content for embedded systems and digital interfaces in HP enterprise printers.

The candidate selected for this role will have a Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication or a related discipline, mastery of written and spoken English, and experience working with software engineering teams, managing requirements, and collaborating on design recommendations that focus on great user experiences while minimizing development and translation costs.

Responsibilities

  • Write and manage UI text and help topic content for HP printer control panels
  • Consult with designers and developers on UI text requirements, making recommendations with consideration for size and layout, support for multiple languages and character sets, and maximizing content reuse for consistency and efficiency in development time and effort
  • Work within HP writing style guidelines and content development methodologies to create content that meets HP user experience objectives and standards
  • Provide leadership and expertise in the tools and processes used for managing UI text for product configuration and driving content reuse across multiple product lines
  • Work with less experienced writers, providing training and guidance on process and tools as needed

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication or related discipline and 4-6 years of experience in a similar role.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English
  • Ability to work from design, marketing, and business requirements to drive UI string development work, keeping projects on track as priorities and schedule change
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience and knowledge in basic office productivity applications and technical writing tools


Leadership
  • Lead a project team in the design, development and delivery of information products for a well-defined project.
  • Manage moderately complex projects by engaging outsource vendors for development of deliverables
