Business Analyst Co-op Student, Print Category

HP Canada Co. currently has an eight month co-op student opening for a Business Analyst at our Canadian Head Office to join the Printing Category Team. This position is eligible to students currently in a coop program in a business or technical related undergraduate or post graduate degree. The team you will be joining is responsible for product management, the P&L of the business to drive revenue, gross margin and market share goals in the Canadian printing marketplace. This team manages all aspects of in-country product/category marketing, business management, and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Management/Improvement - Measure and monitor the key processes for the category team.
  • Special Project: develop, implement, and present a special project that you believe can add significant value to our business.
  • Metrics Reporting - business reporting and helping the category teams with analysis and recommendations.
  • Market share analysis- analyzing market share data and providing insight and recommendations to the category team.


Job Requirements:

The successful candidate must currently be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant subject (ideally Business, Commerce or technical) and have the following attributes:
  • Results oriented & proactive mind set
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint
  • High level of initiative
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment
  • Process focused - ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Strong ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize workload
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team environment
