Brand Strategy and Planning Manager

This role is leading a team of creative marketing professionals in the WW Office Printing Solutions team. This function is critically important component of bringing the MARKETING Strategy Alive, in various creative formats that support the strategic narrative, and address the target audience.

This includes asset development to support NPI - New Product Introductions, key visuals and messaging development through to ideation through to production of Tent Pole campaigns with full 360 degree asset creation.

To be successful in this role, you would have experience in managing a team of marketing managers, working across multiple projects, in support of a heavily matrix organization.

Experience in digital formats across html display, social video GIF, video production, as well as traditional layouts for Print, OOH would be an advantage.

  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages activities of non-exempt/exempt individual contributors (typically Expert/Master) and/or MG1s. Has accountability for a large multi-department area(s) or location(s) with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy. Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization. Plans, manages and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members'primary focus is on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues or a combination of both. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Position typically reports to Director or above.

Additional Guidance/Criteria:

  • Directs and controls activities within a sub-region or Region.
  • Typically manages 10 or more direct reports. Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.

Responsibilities:

  • Attract, grow, motivate and maintain talent; build a skilled Product/Service/Solution (PSS) workforce and core center of expertise for HP.
  • Improve PSS efficiencies through process, tools and collaboration.

Global:

  • Based on a strong knowledge of trends in the industry affects the strategy/direction of the product line/line of services or solutions.
  • Regularly provide product/service/solution recommendations to EXEC3 and EXEC2 community.
  • Responsible for driving the long-term strategy of the product line /line of services/solutions.
  • Lead projects that involve cross-functional coordination to provide integrated products/services/solutions.
  • Improve processes affecting their workgroup and those interfaced with; e.g., forecast system, obsolesces process with retailers.
  • Is perceived by the sales team to be an expert in the products/services/solutions and regularly is called on to defend the benefits in front of customers or partners.

Regional:

  • Regularly provide product/service/solution recommendations to EXEC3 and EXEC2 community.
  • Responsible for driving the long-term strategy of the product line /line of services/solutions.
  • Often create innovative solutions to enhance sales of the product lines or line of services/solutions.
  • Is perceived by the sales team to be an expert in the products/services/solutions and regularly is called on to defend the benefits in front of customers or partners.

Education and Experience Required:

  • College degree in Marketing/Business/Technical.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 10 years in product marketing fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated management skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership in product design or current product management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with selling partners, R&D or customers.
  • Proven experience leading, driving and measuring virtual teams towards a common goal.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company, including senior management.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in a general marketing function beyond Product Marketing.
