Assistant Office Management (Berlin)

Houzz, the web's leading home design site, is looking for a part-time, energetic Assistant for our Office Management in Berlin. The ideal candidate is a natural self-starter with organizational skills and have a strong grasp of computer software and technology, but also enjoy interacting with several service providers and our international team. As office management assistant you must have the ability to recognize all facilities-related issues, work in a professional manner, and multi-task between a blend of operations while maintaining a cheerful and fun attitude. Your every-day goal in this role is to take care of the well-being of our team by monitoring the office space and maintaining equipment, office consumables, service delivery and suppliers.



  • Make people in the office happy
  • Ensure that the office runs smoothly on a daily basis by supporting all office functions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure that our beloved kitchen is on top at any time (preparation of weekly shopping list)
  • Support in office-wide meetings, office relocations, office renovations and special projects
  • Ongoing research for all facility-related issues; developing vendor relationships
  • Support in managing and controlling shipments, orders, inventories and deliveries
  • Integrate new employees with necessary equipment, computer software and peripherals
  • Control and manage building and office access as well as safety systems
  • Ensure that janitorial services are meeting the highest standards
  • Act as primary contact for IT operations and telecommunication functions

Requirements & preferences:

  • You’re happy to work with people and always bring happiness to the office
  • Professional education, Bachelor’s degree or higher education in office communication, event management or information technology; as the case may be, you can also start working with us while still studying
  • Experience in a corporate IT/Operations environment, including significant cross-functional project management experience
  • Fluent in German and English; it’s a big plus if you speak Italian or French too
  • Can do attitude and professional, mature demeanour
  • Precision and detail oriented with strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Proven ability to identify and drive process and system improvements
  • Positive, energetic, optimistic attitude, not afraid to roll up your sleeves
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, flexibility, dependability, and, last but not least, a good sense of humor
