Director of Security Engineering

HouseCanary’s platform accurately forecasts values 36 months into the future for four million residential blocks and more than 100 million properties.

We're seeking a passionate security engineering leader that will own the security of HouseCanary's products, services, and data.

What you'll do:

  • Evaluate risk, recommend and implement mitigation strategies and recovery procedures
  • Lead security process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain living security and business continuity programs
  • Deploy and maintain automated scanning of our products and services
  • Perform root cause analysis on vulnerabilities
  • Stay up-to-date with security and privacy laws, industry best practices, changes in technology, and advise on impact

What you have:

  • 10+ years application security software engineering experience
  • Extensive experience with AWS and securing cloud-based environments
  • Hands-on exposure to Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Up-to-date insight into industry standard security regulations, policies, and procedures for information systems (PCI-DSS, SOC, ISO)
  • Cryptography and network security expertise
  • Deep knowledge of penetration testing
  • Python programming experience
