Social Media Manager

HotelTonight makes it remarkably easy to book great hotels at amazing last-minute rates on your mobile device, for tonight, tomorrow and next week. Our mission is to make people feel more alive by delivering the unexpected and we’re looking for a Social Media Manager to help do just that.

This is a highly visible role which will be responsible for taking HotelTonight’s social media strategy to the next level such that it can be core to our marketing strategy and more powerfully bring to life our unique brand personality. You’ll have the opportunity to have a game-changing impact on our already fast-growing business. You will develop HotelTonight’s global social media communications strategy as well as leading its execution, with a particular emphasis on growing engagement and reach. You’ll work closely with other Marketing channel leaders, Customer Experience, Product, Supply and People Ops to do so.

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU WILL:

  • Engross yourself in the HotelTonight business, marketing and brand strategy including key differentiators
  • Conduct an audit of our social media channels to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities
  • Assume day-to-day oversight of all social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and Snapchat) and the overall channel budget

WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

  • Lay out a long-term strategic vision and tactical roadmap to bring HotelTonight’s social media presence to the next level
  • Partner with the Head of Talent Acquisition to create relevant content communicating HotelTonight's employer brand and value proposition across an international audience

WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

  • Demonstrably grow HotelTonight’s overall reach and engagement and have implemented a measurement system to objectively evaluate progress
  • Partner with the Marketing team to successfully execute integrated marketing campaigns with a significant social component
  • Partner with Customer Experience to enhance our social media response strategy

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a full time marketing role
  • A strong background in social strategic planning and campaign creation for at least one other consumer brand (Required)
  • Expertise in social media measurement across channels
  • A strong background in social strategic planning and campaign creation for at least one other consumer brand
  • Demonstrated success overseeing creative and content creation that inspires and engages audiences
  • A level of resourcefulness, creativity and willingness to roll up your sleeves and push the envelope of tried-and-true approaches from other travel brands in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal stakeholders while having a clear point of view and ability to advance your ideas
  • An informed point of view on the ins and outs of partnering with influencers
  • Genuine interest in travel, hotels and mobile technology and passion for the ever-changing social media landscape and strong subject matter expertise
