Email Marketer

HotelTonight makes it remarkably easy to book great hotels at amazing last-minute rates on your mobile device, for tonight, tomorrow and next week. Our mission is to make people feel more alive by delivering the unexpected and we’re looking for an Email Marketer to help do just that. 

We’re growing quickly and looking for someone to implement new initiatives that re-engage and enhance the relationship between HotelTonight and our users. You have developed and executed campaigns from creative conception through production and reporting. You are passionate about emerging technologies and leveraging automation in new ways to engage and drive business objectives. 

You’ve got an analytical approach to your pipeline and are always looking at the data to see what’s going wrong and what’s going right. You question the status quo and get excited about making tweaks to the process to see what works. And you just really freaking love what you do and the impact it has on the success of a company.

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU WILL:

  • Become an expert in the HotelTonight brand, product and what we’re looking to accomplish while learning the day-to-day responsibilities, unique challenges and opportunities
  • Build strong partnerships with your team and cross functional stakeholders to understand how supply, customer experience, data engineering, finance, product and BI all interact with our outbound customer communications.
  • Audit existing campaigns and develop a strategic program and reporting recommendation 
  • Understand the functionality of all the data components that will interact with CRM, what data needs to flow between them and how they should be formatted 

WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

  • Drive the development of the North America and International email programs, targeting strategy and automation tools
  • Work with the Brand Team and agency resources to ensure all content is in HT’s voice and meets email best practice standards
  • Ensure that insightful user segmentation and identification of key behavior patterns are being fully leveraged; identify ways we can be better, faster and stronger
  • Run multivariate testing, report on performance and extract actionable or relevant insights from testing

WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

  • Be a strategic partner to cross functional stakeholders, sharing your expertise and providing thoughtful guidance on campaigns and initiatives
  • Own projects that both inspire you and push the Marketing team forward
  • Take risks, fail, learn and try again

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Results-driven, strong analytical experience/proclivity to numbers
  • Experience managing and partnering with ExactTarget (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and Movable Ink
  • 3 years direct response/CRM marketing experience in a B2C environment
  • At least 1 year managing triggered and personalized email programs
  • Understanding of email best practices, CAN-SPAM compliance and data privacy
  • Desire to learn, with insatiable curiosity, strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously; operates with urgency, focus and discipline, with a great attention to detail
  • HTML proficient 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field
