The Opportunity:


We are searching for a Senior Director of Technology Delivery Operations (TDO) to join our team in beautiful Austin, TX. We’re looking for a leader that will evolve our HomeAway technology & operational processes into a differentiated competitive advantage through the relentless focus on Speed of delivery, Scientific (data-driven) decision making, Real-time learning, and One-team (collaborative) approach.   The Senior Director of TDO will partner closely with the CTO leadership team to continuously lead improvement in our technology & innovation evolution, product delivery & operational processes, and foundation of industry leading talent.


You Will:


As our Senior Director of TDO you will guide, direct, manage, and evolve the continuous development, integration, delivery, and operational processes of a highly skilled software development organization. 


As a technical executive, you will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and continuously improving end-to-end development & operational processes.   You will also be responsible for partnership with technology leaders to define, measure, and improve engineering operational standards by mentoring and reviewing the work of your team and continuing to recruit top talent. You will be responsible for leading teams through rapidly evolving complex demands, including multiple projects with dependencies on other internal organizations.

- Business Acumen: Demonstrate a keen understanding of basic business operations and the organizational levers (systems, processes, departments, functions) that drive profitable growth; draws from personal experience to quickly evaluate business plans and processes to identify data or recommendations that need further investigation.

In addition a qualified candidate will have the following experience:

- 15+ years experience leading high performance technology teams, creating a wake of business value (delivery results) and top talent (people)

- Candidates will have direct experience in delivery & operations of high-scale, high-volume Internet platforms under a constant rate of product innovation & change.  

- Demonstrable passion for excellence in execution, operations, and delivery of innovation & industry leading products.

- Proven ability to evolve high performance development process, with continuously improving the productivity and capability of engineering team talent, via a continuous improvement & growth mindset.

- Proven expertise in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean-startup, processes, with a bias for aligning the right process for the right problem.  

- Proven expertise in CI/CD, Continuous Quality, Continuous Operations, with a bias for Speed in Delivery (and learning).  Ideal candidate will be versed in open source, and cloud-based technologies tools, and processes.

- Accomplished leader able to articulate general approach to managing people and technology, and collaborate & influence effectively at executive level across complex organizations

- Experience with managing teams across multiple locations and successfully worked with globally distributed teams and vendors

- Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, engage and rotate superior talent
Led teams through fast paced development cycles.   Servant leader, with a “love em, or lose em approach” and bias for helping talent achieve their full potential through a “growth mindset”. 

- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technically complicated topics

- Demonstrated ability to lead a 100+ person team(s) and double it in an aggressive timeline

- Depth in internet & e-commerce service industry & operations.

- Candidates will have direct experience in delivery & operations of high-scale, high-volume Internet platforms under a constant rate of product innovation & change.  

- Ideal candidate will have experience in Ecommerce, Internet platforms, B2B supply eco-systems & experiences, API development suites, cloud technologies, and running 24x7 high scale operations.


Education:

- Undergraduate Degree with a focus in computer science or related technology.

- Master’s Degree with a focus in computer science or related technology.  

- Leadership development training, demonstrating a commitment to personal development as a leader
