Snr Analyst Strategic Data Insights Sales

This particular role will be responsible for supporting our global Partner Success Group. The analyst will provide data, analysis and reports with a focus on better understanding our owners and property managers and how we can most effectively support them to achieve their own goals. 

Key Responsibilities
• Partner with internal stakeholders – both technical and non-technical – to answer complex business questions, providing insightful analyses accompanied by strong verbal and/or visual presentations 
• Through strategic analysis and business modeling, generate hypotheses and recommendations of things we should change, leading to experiments that will confirm or deny those hypotheses and ultimately improve operations 
• Be a HomeAway strategy guru - be the point of contact for all business and strategy questions in your respective area, and drive critical and objective thinking across the organization
• Partner with the Technology and Engineering teams to ensure continuous improvement in data collection and underlying data systems to adequately support advancements in our data products and improve our insights
• Collect and prioritize user stories and partner with our Analytics Engineering team to enable self-service data products for ourselves and our customers 
• Understand key business and conversion drivers to better define KPIs that are aligned with the team’s overall strategic direction
• Monitor the Partner Success Group’s key metrics (Partner-level bookings, search ranking, etc.) daily, and quickly identify areas of concern, propose analyses and/or corrective actions
• Work with stakeholders to review, enhance and ensure usage of reports
• Support teams in the deployment, analysis and readouts of A/B and multi-variate tests
• Participate in and at times help lead sections of the Partner Success Group’s weekly meeting to ensure insight-based decision making

• Ability to decompose a line of business into its underlying drivers and then model changes in those drivers based on historic data to estimate the impact on the overall business 
• Must be comfortable with uncertainty by prioritizing effectively and flexibly handling changes
• Able to work across different business units/countries to communicate findings company-wide
• Ability to work independently and proactively, identifying issues and raising them to management, as well as offering potential solutions
• Ability to build and present evidence-based stories
• Excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Technical Skills
• Expert-level business modeling (Excel) and presentation (PPT) skills
• Expert-level strategic problem-solving skills (issue trees, frameworks, etc.)
• Intermediate-level SQL and Tableau knowledge
• Beginner-level knowledge of big data tools / languages (Hadoop, Hive, Spark)
• Strong willingness to advance technically post-hire

• Bachelor degree in an analytical field (e.g., Strategy, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics) and 7+ years of experience in data analytics OR Masters degree in an analytical field (e.g. Strategy, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics) and 5+ years of experience
• 3+ years’ experience in either web/ travel industry (strategy role preferably) or strategic consulting is preferred
• Background in relevant area – travel, ecommerce, real estate – is a strong plus
• Must have proven prior experience with understanding and manipulating complex systems to drive business performance 
• Consistent ability to produce high quality, accurate and detailed work products
• Must be fluent in English
