Position Description

Role Purpose

The Sales Manager is responsible for website listing and sales target achievement for the business.   You will manage an internal sales team of 1-2 people and will account manage the largest customers.   The work includes servicing organic demand – onboarding new customers - as well ‘hunting’ in specific geographies and for specific styles of properties.  With an increasing proportion of booking related sales (Pay Per Booking and Traveller Service Fee revenue streams) a large part of the job is centered around maximizing booking conversion and performance management of owners / managers (new and existing).    The sales manager also owns the task of sales forecasting and the collection of key supply side metrics.


  • Manage team and own performance to achieve individual, team and company sales targets across Property Manager and Owner segments.

  • Identifies, evaluates, and acquires profitable new business.

  • Initiates an appropriate level of activity to take maximum advantage of sales opportunities.

  • Maintains local knowledge of day-to-day developments relating to the holiday rental market and accurately assesses opportunities where they arise.

  • Sales, competitor analysis, business intelligence and other ad hoc reporting as required

  • Advises existing and prospective Bookabach clients on company products and services.

  • Explores partnership arrangements and directs campaigns in support of business growth.

  • Upsells to existing Property Manager clients.

  • Sells to existing and prospective Property Manager clients.

  • Generates and maintains an ongoing pipeline of high quality prospects.

  • Suggests improvements to existing sales processes.

  • Assist customer service team when required.

  • Chases invoice payments where required.

  • Other duties as may be reasonably required.

Qualifications & Experience
  • 3+ years’ experience achieving/exceeding sales targets, preferably for an online or travel-related company.

  • Experience presenting solutions to prospective clients and making cold sales calls.

  • High standards of computer literacy and keyboarding skills. Experience with business support software applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Preferred tertiary qualifications in business, commerce at bachelor level or equivalent.

  • Proven ability to plan, identify and develop strong prospects and convert these into profitable new business.

  • Experience with Salesforce or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
