The Opportunity:HomeAway and Stayz are seeking an amazing Marketing Director for the Australian and NZ region, with the experience and vision to lead a small team of passionate marketers to deliver record numbers of holiday house bookings and traveller memories. You will also deliver increasing financial returns for holiday house owners and managers across the region. HomeAway’s main regional office is located in Sydney, but our team also operates out of Auckland and Newcastle, and you will also travel occasionally to HQ at Austin, Texas. You will be an influential member of the regional management team, reporting to the Regional Director. Your key responsibilities: • Develop and execute brand strategies and insights to communicate a compelling value proposition for current and prospective customers, which in turn delivers desired business growth outcomes. • Develop insightful consumer, trade and competitor research. Distill key insights and learning, then execute on resulting initiatives. Ensure all customer touchpoints and interactions have a customer focus at their core. • Outperform in the delivery of ◦ highly engaged traveller site visits across all platforms and channels ◦ listings growth (in both volume and quality) by both holiday house owners and property managers. • Lead the development of the Marketing team for the HomeAway group of brands in Australia and NZ, identifying optimal structure, talent and processes. • Develop and grow the marketing team’s capabilities and contribution to the wider organisation. • Lead the management of creative and media agency partners to ensure we scale marketing capabilities in line with growth plans, and maintain our market leadership position. • Develop and execute a highly effective PR strategy in consumer media, and support our PR strategy in the Government regulatory sphere. • Assist in the management of performance marketing budgets and strategies for the region – identifying key local campaigns, requirements and opportunities. • Collaborate with sales, product development, customer experience, finance and operations functions to develop integrated and highly effective marketing programs. • Enable and support localisation of the global brands, ensuring all marketing activities feel local and personal; articulate market nuances for teams who aren’t familiar with the market. • Support the organisation of event-based Marketing programs throughout the year, including owner and property manager trade events, breakfast seminars, webinars. • Ensure timely and appropriate communications and enablement on marketing programs, campaigns and resources to internal teams and key stakeholders. • Manage analytics and reporting for the region’s marketing activities, working closely with the Strategy and Business Intelligence team. • Serve as an influential thought leader within the organization, among customers, corporate partners, and in the industry as a whole. • Contribute strongly to the regional management team, as well as the global marketing organization, enhancing both the internal culture of the region, and also increasing the external regard in which the business is held. • Nurture your team, and love your job! Candidates must demonstrate the following experience and competencies:Experience • 8-10+ years of relevant consumer marketing experience on the client side and/or within interactive, advertising or marketing agencies in the e-Commerce space, preferably for travel, sharing economy, service or lifestyle brands • Experience in B2B marketing to build a highly engaged supplier marketplace, ideally in e-commerce space within travel, tourism or sharing economy markets • 3-5+ years experience managing a diverse marketing team of at least 4 people, preferably within a matrixed organization, where you have grown comfortable influencing across lines of responsibility.
