International Tax Analyst

About the role

Do you have a passion for international tax? Want to work on engaging and hands on projects with Japan, Singapore, New Zealand or Thailand? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join our Global International Tax team supporting HomeAway across APAC. You will thrive on building solid partner relationships cross-functionally, delivering quality work with great attention to detail.

As an International Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing compliance, reporting, controversy and advisory related matters in all APAC jurisdictions in which HomeAway operates APAC.
  • Preparing and reviewing matters such as withholding taxes, foreign income tax offsets, CFC rules, 768-A, 768-G, thin capitalisation, transferor trusts, expatriate taxes, Fringe Benefit Tax, Payroll Tax, Tax Compliance, Tax Reporting and Advisory.
  • Assisting with responding to tax audits and correspondence from tax authorities taking ownership to ensure that all of the required work is submitted accurately and on time.
  • Coordinating and collaborate with the Global Tax Reporting team on quarterly and year-end US GAAP tax provision, as well as APAC statutory provision preparation and review.
  • Supporting the wider international team in respect of researching tax implications of new business initiatives and tax advisory projects
  • Project managing and delivering multiple stakeholder engagements, including, identification of issues and opportunities, research and preparation of advice.
  • Partnering with APAC cross-functional and regional teams such as Legal, Accounting & Finance, Marketing etc. on tax related matters.
  • To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:

  • A degree qualification in Accounting, or equivalent (preferably Tax).
  • Attained a part or full qualfication in CPA or CA.
  • Have experience working in one of the Big Four or public accounting firms (desirable).
  • Demonstrates an eagerness to learn and takes ownership of career development.
  • Ability to drive and manage workload to prioritize and balance multiple deadlines in an autonomous environment.
  • Is able to collaborate effectively cross-functionally to set goals and find solutions to problems.
  • Ability to utilise tax knowledge and previous experience to contribute to meeting commercial objectives.
