Systems Software Engineer
We (TS R&D) are looking for an experienced Product Ownerto play a critical role in the development of HP’s Connected Products platformand support services. The platform will enable the development of an openecosystem of automated support services for all styles of technologyenvironments – from standalone servers to public clouds.
In this role you will be working in the SAFe (Scaled AgileFramework) model. You will work closely with the product management team and customersto help drive the product vision, and with the scrum teams and release trainengineer to deliver the product.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
÷ Experience in a product owner role
o Skilled at writingstories, creating acceptance criteria, prioritizing backlogs and roadmaps,crafting sprint and product goals to maximize business value
o Experience with AgileScrum methodologies, particularly in a SAFe environment
÷ Domain experience / knowledge
o System management andcloud management experience across IT operations, services and tools (e.g. HPOperations Manager, Datadog)
o Machine-to-machine andIoT solutions and platforms
o Big data analytics(e.g. Hadoop, HBase, Vertica)
o Development of an opensoftware platform and ecosystem
o Infrastructure-as-a-Serviceand Platform-as-a-Service (e.g. OpenStack, CloudFoundry)
÷ Consulting experience / customer engagement skills desirable
÷ Ability to communicate effectively to senior management, peers and teammembers
÷ Demonstrated ability to work and deliver in global, cross-functional,and virtual teams

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES OF A PRODUCT OWNER
÷ Typical tasks assigned to Product Owners include: working with ProductManagers to breakdown features into user stories for all new functionality,presenting user stories to the product teams in grooming and design sessions,ensuring that new functionality meets the acceptance criteria so the work canbe designated as complete.
÷ The Product Owner works with the Scrum Masters to prioritize userstories, participates in team planning meetings and is available to provideadvice, clarification and guidance during the execution of each Sprint. TheProduct Owner champions sufficient customer engagement during the developmentthrough, for example, product demonstration and customer feedback. The ProductOwner inspects, accepts or rejects completed work from the development sprint.
÷ The Product Owner works in relevant structures (e.g. scrum of scrums) tomanage dependencies and set priorities across multiple teams and backlog itemsand to maintain alignment to the release product vision and roadmap. TheProduct Owner has final sign-off of the product release at the differentlevels.
÷ The Product Owner is responsible for stakeholder management, engagingwith key customer contacts, product management, sales and marketing to ensureall relevant inputs to the product backlog have been collected and prioritized.
÷ The Product Owner ensures that the product backlog is constantlyprioritized to secure delivery of maximum business value.
÷ In determining relative business value of the backlog items, the ProductOwner uses necessary inputs such as customer priorities and the need to addresstechnical debt. The resultant product backlog is aligned with variousstakeholders.
÷ Product Knowledge – Becomes a subject matter expert in the relevantproduct domains. It is expected that the Product Owner will quickly become anexpert in the product from a feature / functionality perspective.
÷ Market Knowledge – Develops an understanding of target market and userbase and uses this to guide product decisions. Spends appropriate time in thefield speaking with customers and observing their use of the product.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
÷ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
÷ 3 years of relevant product management, product owner, or businessanalysis experience in an agile environment
÷ 5 years in software development
÷ SAFe PM/PO certification (SPMPO) is a plus
