Software Development Manager

HPE Enterprise Group (EG) combines the portfolio of Enterprise Servers, Storage, Networking and Technology Services to solve the complexities of the extended enterprise and deliver advanced solutions and services to our global, commercial and public sector and SMB customers throughout the regions.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • 12 – 15 years of experience in technical stream, preferably in Telecom/OSS domain
  • Minimum three years of experience in project management (Product Development)
  • Hands on with Agile methodology and SAFe

Responsibilities

  • Develops a team-oriented, supportive culture with a strong focus on creating an environment that fosters creativity and open communication, as well as one that demands discipline and results.
  • Builds a first-class Engineering team that will scale as the business grows
  • Constantly improves team productivity, refine agile processes, and create methods to increase efficiency
  • Investigate, analyze, and evangelize (if necessary) methodologies such as Agile Scrum, test-driven development, etc.
  • Drives/participates in all phases of the product lifecycle, and works with cross functional teams to remove impediments and provides adequate visibility to stakeholders
  • Provides leadership for a team of individual contributors designing, developing, testing new products, enhancements and sustenance projects
  • Manages deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and project goals, timelines, and budget goals are met
  • People management: hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance goals, coaching, and career development
  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to stakeholders at regular interval
  • Manages relationship with vendors and suppliers to get best value

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team-building, and conflict resolution.
  • Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage human capital across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills
  • Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication skills (e.g. written, verbal, presentation)
  • Experience in Networking/Server/Storage domain
  • Knowledge of Network management and technology will be plus
  • Software development experience designing management application in dynamic programming languages (Java, C ) at scale, powering multiple consumers
