Job Description As a Technical Consultant, you will provide consulting and professional services for HP Software BSM solutions.

You will implement and Integrate HP Software’s BSM solutions – BSM, Run Time Service Model (RTSM), Operations Management I (OMi), SiteScope (SiS), Business Process Monitor (BPM), Real User Monitor (RUM), Diagnostics (Diag), Transaction Vision (TV), Universal Configuration Management Database (uCMDB), Network Node Manager i (NNMi), Operations Manager (OM). You will integrate with other systems.

You will mentor and will be responsible for relationship and customer satisfaction.

Leveraging HP’s intellectual capital, project methodologies and business processes, you’ll stay abreast of market trends, build our credibility, and retain client loyalty by providing the best service experience in the industry.

Candidates will be asked to work on site at a client site providing the following services:

Assist new personnel in user familiarization and capabilities of deployed tools (BSM, OMW, NNMi)

Create and modify views in BSM

Create reports in uCMDB as requested

Assist with management of operator access to RTSM views/reports.

Add/remove SNMP information for devices in NNMi

Troubleshoot OM agents within their region. Identify regional assets lacking an OM agent.

Create and execute CRQs to correct (deploy agents) following change process

Build local views in Node Manager to customer requirement

Seek to identify and replace legacy tool capabilities. Alert when engineering resources are required to address.

OS and application level patching

Monitor Enterprise Monitoring Tier II Remedy queue and resolve incidents as able.

Monitor and maintain awareness of regional tickets and items of concern

Add/remove site specific node groups for systems managed by NNMi

Define/Add/Remove custom site specific SNMP monitoring requirements

Build local topology views in Node Manager to customer specifications.

Manage site specific critical system CI alerts and operator recipient definitions.

At least 2 years’ experience working with HPSW BSM products or similar networking tools

Bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree in telecoms engineering, computer science, or similar field of study

An active TS/SCI with poly is required.

Knowledge of:

OS admin skills – HPUX, Solaris, Windows – enough knowledge to talk to Sys Admin about monitoring and to get around in OS, install products, etc

Database admin skills – Oracle, MS SQL – enough knowledge to talk to a DBA about monitoring of database and configure SPIs

Network knowledge – SNMP protocol, routing protocols, networking hardware and capabilities

Scripting – perl, shell, and vbscript – don’t have to be an expert, but need to be able to read scripting, edit, and reuse.

Interviewing and information gathering skills

Understanding of various network and application architectures and technologies (able to talk to enterprise architects)

Familiar with technologies for virtualization, storage/SAN, clustering

Middleware/J2EE – Websphere, Weblogic, Jboss, JMX protocol

Familiar with products like MQ, Tibco, BizTalk, etc. and their architecture

Packaged Apps – PeopleSoft, SAP, Siebel, OracleApps and their architecture

Web Services and XML

Specific HP Product skills:

BSM – Install, upgrade, data collector installation/integration/configuration (SiS, BPM, OM, NNMi, RUM, Diag, TV), HTTPS/certificates, LDAP integration, OMi configuration (ETIs, HIs, KPIs), RTSM configuration (Modeling, Queries, Views, Perspectives), integration with uCMDB, DB install/configure

uCMDB –Install, upgrade, Universal Discovery (advanced mapping and inventory) configuration, Modeling (Queries, Views, Perspectives), integration with BSM, integration with other HP tools including Service Manager and Asset Manager, HTTPS/certificates, LDAP integration,

OM – Install, upgrade, agent installation, upgrade, HTTPS/certificates, OVO database install/configure, Manager of managers configuration, policy/template creation, trouble-shooting, integrations to NNM and Service Manager, OS SPI, DB SPI, and any other SPIs (Oracle/VMware/SQL etc.)

NNM/NNMi – Install, discovery filters and configuration, event integration and configuration, trap templates, map creation, trouble-shooting

Experience with implementations of BSM, uCMDB, OM, NNMi, SiS, RUM, BPM

Experience and knowledge of monitoring technologies best practices

Client/server technology, networking systems and solutions, middleware concepts, IT security, web technologies, Storage/SAN management, data warehousing, internet-, intranet-, portal technologies.

Strong NT and UNIX implementation, system administration skills and basic software development knowledge.
