Senior Marketing Manager, Industry Solutions, Financial Services

Manage the Financial Services Industry (FSI) vertical and its sub-verticals, with an emphasis on Banking and Capital Markets. Set the strategy and execute inbound and outbound marketing aspects for FSI solutions around the entire sales lifecycle from definition to ecosystem development, to sales enablement and pipeline analysis, customer/partner community development, and external spokesperson roles.

Responsibilities include design, development and execution of go-to-market (GTM) marketing plans for the FSI sub-verticals (e.g., Capital Markets, Banking, Insurance, etc.) solution portfolio in conjunction with other product, horizontal solution, and field and campaigns marketing teams. Key activities include assessment of customer insights, sub-vertical use case identification, mapping, and prioritization with subsequent identification of vertical positioning and messaging for HPE’s products, services and solutions offerings both individually and as a portfolio through close partnership with the sales force, relevant ISV and SI partners, and customers. Identify and assist in the establishment of third party relationships designed to provide solution offerings within the FSI sub-verticals. Maintain industry or customer segment relationships and serve as the “go-to” internal industry expert for mapping our products, services, and solutions to FSI.

Establishment of the strategic foundation for our marketing initiatives within FSI will include:

  • Create an analytical framework to help the industry marketing, sales and business development, and industry solutions development teams prioritize investments across vertical segments, geographies and accounts
  • Develop quantitative models to highlight comparative best practices across verticals, geographies and accounts
  • Perform primary and secondary market research to identify industry growth vectors
  • Direct development of value proposition and positioning across industries/segments
  • Develop innovative/ breakthrough industry or customer persona marketing strategies/plans and execute plans with relevant sales forces
  • Design and drive pan-HPE integrated industry solution offerings leveraging key next-generation products, consulting services, horizontal solutions, and external partner offerings within industry and segment context
  • Identify and prioritize key ecosystem partners and drive technical and business alignment with our product/services offerings by leveraging our partner ecosystem
  • Lead/manage cross-functional/cross-organizational teams in the development and execution of marketing long-term strategies and plans
  • Direct cross-functional/cross-organizational closed-loop analysis and champion indicated actions to senior leaders
  • Initiate/drive innovative /breakthrough cross-functional and cross-organizational strategies and tactics that generate revenue and market share

Education and Experience Required:

  • Business Analyst (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer & Electrical Engineering, Marketing or related field;
  • Master of Economics, Statistics, Masters of Science (MS) Computer & Electrical Engineering, or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
  • 10 years of experience in one or more of the FSI sub-verticals through any combination of direct employment in the industry or through support of the industry as a market researcher/analyst, systems engineer, business or financial analyst or other consultative role.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of industry specific business process and the application of IT to those processes
  • Deep analytical background – creation of financial or other quantitative models
  • Understanding of Enterprise Architecture as it relates to IT in the Industries covered
  • Mastery knowledge of quantitative market research and/or financial analysis techniques
  • Experienced in Excel, pivot tables, charting/graphing
  • Experienced in PowerPoint presentation development and integration
  • Experience in using pipeline tracking tools
  • Excellent written/oral communications and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build, manage and influence virtual teams
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and functional disciplines
  • Excellent influencing, consensus-building and conflict-resolution skills
