Senior LinuxSystem Administration

Candidatewill be responsible for monitoring and subsequent handling of all issues on allLinux servers and Linux based services.

Furthermorehe/she will take care of the Linux server installations, upgradation, migrationsand backups,

EscalationManagement:

Identify,manage, and lead escalations through L3.

Work withothers to help manage escalations through L5.

ProblemManagement:

Proactivelyand reactively look for solutions to prevent problems from occurring in team/technologyarea.

ChangeManagement/Implementation: Independently review, implement, and verifychanges/solutions of high complexity and risk to meet customer and/ortrade/HPIT infrastructure needs.

May lead orparticipate in a Change Advisory Board.

Apply deep and broad technical background andknowledge of industry trends to operate several critical or high risktechnology areas/customer groups.

Integratetechnical knowledge and business understanding to create superior solutions forHP and for customers.

Mentor/consultwith team members, other organizations, customers, and vendors on complexissues.

IncidentManagement: Resolve technical and some business incidents independently.

Mentor/assistless-experienced team members on complex incidents.

EscalationManagement: identify, mange, and lead escalations through L4.

Work withothers to help manage escalations through L5.

SWCR

Educationand Experience Required:

Bachelor’sdegree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalentwork experience. May have Master’s degree in related field. Often holdsentry-level certification(s) in work field. May hold intermediate-levelcertification(s) in work field. Typically 6 years of relevant experience

Knowledgeand Skills Required:

Additional Knowledge& Skills

  • Experiencein administering SAN, NAS storage and Netbackup a plus
  • Experiencewith cloud & virtualization technologies a plus. Linux Administrationexperience (RedHat 6.X/Ubuntu/Centos) (6 yrs)

Linuxadministration experience(OS and software installation)

Specializationlevel knowledge in Linux troubleshooting (L3 level)

Specializationlevel knowledge LVM, Kickstart and Building the servers using ISO

Installationand configuration of NFS, SAMBA, DHCP, LDAP, TFTP and FTP

Installationand configuration of Kickstart and PXE services.

knowledge ofNFS protocol and tuning

Basicknowledge of SAN, NAS and HBA.

Goodproblem-solving skills using system data such as SAR, I/O stat, tcpdump, etc.

Monitoringexperience maintaining and configuring (preferably zabbix, nagios)

Knowledge ofITIL process to understand Service Request, Incident and change management.

Knowledge onapplying patch and security changes per policy
